Check Equipment Clearances
It is important to check clearance between tractor front
loader and grapple before putting grapple into service.
Make sure hoses are long enough and won’t become
pinched or entangled in the equipment. Make sure
grapple does not come in contact with tractor loader.
1.
Visually inspect hydraulic hoses for possible pinch
points and shortness. Make hose adjustments
before operating hydraulics to check clearances.
2. Start tractor and raise grapple approximately 12" off
the ground.
3. If necessary, have someone stand nearby that can
motion for the operator to stop if a problem develops
while completing steps 4-7 below.
4. Fully extend grapple hydraulic cylinders to pivot
upper jaw fully down.
5. Fully extend and retract tilt hydraulic cylinder on end
of tractor loader while watching for interferences
between loader and grapple. Stop movement if
grapple or hoses come near the loader.
6. Fully retract grapple cylinders to pivot upper jaw fully
up and repeat step 5 above.
7.
Raise loader arms fully up and repeat steps 4-6
above.
8. Lower grapple to ground & close upper grapple jaw.
9. Shut tractor down properly before dismounting.
Refer to
10. Recheck tractor hydraulic fluid level before putting
grapple into operation. Refer to your tractor
Operator’s Manual for recommended hydraulic fluid
and procedure for checking hydraulic fluid level.

WARNING
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
Store attachment with hydraulic cylinders fully retracted,
upper claw fully open, and upper and lower teeth pointing
down resting on the ground. The attachment can tip-over if
stored in the upright position.
1.
See
grapple for long periods and end of season.
2. Park tractor on a flat level solid surface.
3. Fully open upper claw, rotate top of loader hitch plate
forward, and lower loader arms until both upper and
lower grapple teeth are resting on the ground as
shown in Figure 1-1.
4. Shut tractor down properly before dismounting. Refer
to
5.
With grapple upper and lower teeth resting on the
ground, operate hydraulic control lever back and forth to
release hydraulic pressure to the attachment.
6.
Disconnect hydraulic hoses from tractor loader and
store hoses on grapple.
7.
Pull lock handles up on the 2 lever quick coupler lock
handles to remove lock pins from the bottom notches in
the grapple hitch plate.
8. Start tractor and slowly rotate top of loader hitch plate
forward while slowly backing the tractor away from
the attachment until top of loader hitch plate and
grapple top angle bars have separated.
9. Continue to carefully back away from the grapple
until clear of the grapple.
10. Rotate front mounted loader quick hitch vertical and
raise loader arms up to a suitable traveling height.
