Park Brake Adjustment
Refer to Figure 3-17:
The park brakes on your mower are factory adjusted and
should not require any additional adjustments. However,
adjustments can be made if the park brakes will not hold
the mower in your particular application.

DANGER
Make sure blade engagement switch is (OFF), switch key is
(OFF) and removed, control levers are in park position
(OUT) and park brake lever is (ON) before lifting seat
platform to make adjustments.
1.
Park mower on a level hard surface, push blade
engagement switch off, raise deck fully up and turn
switch key off.
2.
Chock in-front-of and in-back-of front wheels to
prevent mower from rolling forward or backward.
3.
Make the following adjustments as needed:
Park Brakes Don’t Hold Mower On Incline
a. Loosen jam nuts on both ends of brake actuating
rod (#2).
b. Lengthen actuating rod (#2) until park brake holds
mower on an incline.
c. Tighten jam nuts to the correct torque.
Park Brake On One Side Doesn’t Hold
a. On the side that does not hold, loosen jam nuts on
both ends of brake actuating rod (#3).
b. Lengthen actuating rod (#3) until park brakes on
both sides set the park brakes with equal amounts
of pressure.
c. Tighten jam nuts to the correct torque.
4.
Remove wheel chocks.
