When Legend is selected on the Display button, the lower part of the Trip page displays a legend
for all of the datalink weather symbology used on the EX5000C.
When Status is selected on the Display button, the current status of the Broadcast datalink,
including the time since last reception of the different types of weather data, is shown on the
bottom of the Trip page. Note that different data types are sent at different rates, for instance
NEXRAD radar images are sent about twice as often as METAR information. The datalink
status display also shows the current signal quality and receiver serial number, as reported by the
Broadcast satellite receiver.
Note that your Service Level may be reported as "None defined" (like the example above), if
your weather data subscription has only recently been activated. Once the datalink receiver has
confirmed your Service Level, it will be displayed here, for instance, "Aviator" or "Aviator Pro".
This process may take a day or two to be triggered, depending on your MFD usage, but you will
still receive datalink weather information in the meantime. Your broadcast datalink receiver will
enter an "activation mode" to confirm your Service Level, which will prevent weather data from
being received for a few minutes while this occurs.
Nearest Page (with Datalink Weather)
The MFD Nearest page also displays METAR information received via the broadcast datalink.
Similarly to the Trip page, the METAR symbols are displayed in a column next to the Nearest
airports list, for all airports that have weather reporting stations. Airports that do not report
METARs do not have a METAR symbol shown.
