
Head:
Head is connected to torso with a long bolt at base of neck,
secured with a lock nut.
To add or remove:
Lift esophagus out of way, detach stomach reservoir and
remove lock nut; the head will now slip out of the torso.
Tracheostomy Plug and Care:
To remove tracheostomy plug, grasp firmly, lifting it up and
out. To replace, press it into the opening.
Laerdal Recommends:
Use a size 6-tracheostomy tube. Opening will
accommodate other sizes, but a size 6 is usually most
suitable.
NG Tube Placement:
This manikin features an esophagus and stomach reservoir
for the practice of NG tube insertion and skills such as
Gavage and Lavage.
Lubricate tube with either silicone spray or liquid detergent
prior to NG tube insertion.
Stomach Reservoir:
Stomach reservoir attaches to esophagus with a black
connector. To fill reservoir with water, you must unscrew
from esophagus.
Chest Plate:
Chest plate fits into torso by a ledge on plate and
corresponding groove on torso cavity.
To remove:
1.
Pull out plate by applying pressure to center of plate.
2.
Work fingers under edge of plate and lifting out.
To insert:
1.
Position plate over cavity.
2.
Work edges into groove on torso cavity.
