UNPACKING
Prior to tool assembly and use, read
this manual thoroughly to familiarize
yourself with proper assembly, maintenance and safety
procedures.
Check shipping carton and machine for damage before
unpacking. Lay out all parts on a piece of cardboard
or other clean, flat surface. Always check for and
remove protective shipping materials around motors
and moving parts. Do not discard shipping carton and
packing materials until you have carefully inspected the
contents, assembled the machine and are satisfied that
it operates correctly.
Compare package contents to Component Parts List
and Hardware Package List prior to assembly to make
sure all items are present. Carefully inspect parts to
make sure no damage occurred during shipping. If any
parts are missing, damaged or preassembled, do not
assemble. Instead, call Service Center at 1-800-850-2044
for assistance.

ASSEMBLY
ATTACH THE BLADE FENCE
1. Install the wear-plate wedge clips (H2) as
shown in Figure 5.
2. Attach the wing screws (H1) but do not
tighten.
3. Carefully insert the blade fence (8, B5) so that
the ends of the fence arms slide under the
wedge clips.
NOTE:
The blade fence may be inserted and
used upside down or right side up.
When used right side up, the bottom lip of the
fence is lower than the bottom plate of the saw,
enabling you to use the edge of your workpiece
as a guide.
When installed upside down, the bottom of the
fence is level with the bottom plate of the saw,
keeping the bottom plate level to the workpiece
while letting you use any perpendicular surface
as a guide.
4. Tighten the wing screws but do not
overtighten.
