Adjusting the Arm Vane Pump Relief Valve

Usually, there is no arm vane pump relief valve. If there is one on your unit, it is located at the front of
the pump.

Completely tighten the relief valve on the pump.

The arm (retract/extend) and gripper (up/down movement) operating pressure is the same as the
main relief

. Table 1 lists the operating pressure and cycle times for each arm function. No

adjustments are required for these functions. Only gripper closing requires proper adjustment to
prevent crushing of roller carts. See

on page 180 to adjust the gripper load sense

relief valve.

If the arm is equipped with a 300-gallon gripper, the up/down and extend/retract movements are set to 2700 psi.
