Understanding the Alarms
HVSD ALARM
will trigger and the red HIGH VOLTAGE SHUT DOWN LED will turn on if the rectifier DC voltage
rises above the alarm threshold for longer than 20 seconds and the inverter section is on. This could be due to
the failure of an internal rectifier component or the result of maladjustments of the output voltage settings. If
the High DC Voltage Shutdown alarm activates, the DC output of the rectifier shuts off the rectifier by opening
the Rectifier AC breaker to prevent irreversible damage to the battery. In this condition, the inverter will run off
the batteries until either the HVSD alarm is reset (resetting the Rectifier AC breaker) or the batteries deplete.
The inverter will transfer to the alternate source once no DC source is available.
NOTE:
The HVSD alarm will not trigger if there is a Low Current alarm present.
HIGH DCV ALARM
will trigger and the red HIGH DC VOLTAGE LED will turn on if the output DC voltage rises
above the specified voltage threshold of the alarm for longer than 5 seconds. This is usually caused by
maladjustments of the output voltage settings, or in rare cases, by a failure of an internal rectifier component.
LOW DCV ALARM
will trigger and the red LOW DC VOLTAGE LED will turn on if the DC voltage falls below the
specified voltage threshold of the alarm for longer than 5 seconds. This is usually due to an AC Failure, or the
rectifier is overloaded into deep-current limit. It could also be caused by maladjustments of the output voltage
settings, or in rare cases, by a failure of an internal rectifier component.
