LA8 factory preset library (version 1.0)
A complete onboard Preset Library is stored in some of the 89 OEM Memory Locations (from 11 to 99) of the LA8
controller to cover all principal sound system configurations for a selected range of L-ACOUSTICS speakers. The table
below shows the Version 1.0 of the LA8 Preset Library: 36 presets are available and each one is described with its
memory location number, name, channel assignments, and family.
Note:
Check the L-ACOUSTICS internet website @
www.l-acoustics.com
on a regular basis for latest preset revision.

system presets description (V-DOSC
®
, KUDO™, dV-DOSC, and dV-D_dVS families)
[xxx_LO] / [xxx_HI] presets result in raised contours in the high frequency range for using the systems in Line
Source Array FOH applications. LO presets are the ‘’smoothest’’ while HI presets are ‘’brighter’’.
[KUDO50], [KUDO80], and [KUDO110] presets result in raised contours in the high frequency range for using
the KUDO™ systems in Line Source Array FOH applications. Those presets are engineered for using the KUDO™
enclosures respectively with the 50°, 80°, and 110° coverage pattern settings (see the ‘’KUDO™’’ user manual).
[dV_FI] ‘’FILL’’ preset results in a nominally flat contour for using the dV-DOSC systems in front fill distributed
applications.
[xxx_60] / [xxx_100] presets include a 60Hz/100Hz high-pass filter to allow for coupling the systems with
60Hz/100Hz low-filtered subwoofer systems.
[V-DOSC_xxx_
X
] presets provide full range equalization for coupling the V-DOSC
®
systems with 200Hz low
filtered subwoofer systems. The presets are engineered to allow both V-DOSC
®
and subwoofer system
bandwidths evenly cross in the low frequency range.
[dV_dV-S_xxx] presets are engineered for hybrid configurations with a ratio of 3 dV-DOSC for 1 dV-SUB. Those
presets include a 100Hz crossover point.
Subwoofer system presets description (dV-SUB, SB118, SB28, and SB218 families)
[xxx_60] / [xxx_100] presets include a 60Hz/100Hz low-pass filter for using the subwoofer systems as LF
reinforcement of 60Hz/100Hz high-pass filtered systems.
[xxx_
X
] presets include a 200Hz low-pass filter for using the subwoofer systems as LF reinforcement of full range
V-DOSC
®
systems driven by the [V-DOSC_xxx_
X
] presets. The presets are engineered to allow both V-DOSC
®
and subwoofer system bandwidths evenly cross in the low frequency range.
[dV-S_60_xxx] presets also include a 60Hz high-pass filter for coupling the dV-SUB systems with 60Hz low-pass
filtered subwoofer systems.
[xxx_C] presets feature specific equalization settings for using the subwoofer systems within ‘’cardioid’’ coverage
pattern arrays (see the ‘’SB118’’ or ‘’SB28’’ user manuals).
The 4 output channels are labeled ‘’xx_x’’ where:
•
The first 2 digits indicate the kind of transducer to be connected to the corresponding output channel:
LF, MF, HF: Low, Mid, or High frequency transducer, respectively
SB: Subwoofer
SR: Reversed subwoofer for ‘’cardioid’’ applications
•
The last digit indicates which input channel the output is driven by:
A, B: Output driven by input A or B, respectively
