2-6.7 

Connect PSTN Port 

After the STE has been configured for PSTN operation, it can be connected to the PSTN service.  The 

PSTN PORT

 is located in the rear panel of the wedges (

Figure 2-1

). 

1.  If the service provider did not provide a wall jack, plug the service provided PSTN cable into the 

PSTN PORT

. 

2.  If an RJ-11 wall jack is available, locate the PSTN Line Cord (P/N 1442-14-ND) supplied with the 

STE.  Plug one end of the cord into the 

PSTN PORT

 and the other end into the wall jack. 

When connected, proceed to Paragraph

 and then make a test call. 

2-7. INSTALL 

TRI-TAC 

Please note that the followiing TRI-TAC pre-installation requirements will apply only to the Tactical STE 
and to the STE-RT. 

2-7.1 TRI-TAC 

Pre-installation Requirements 

The 

TRI-TAC PORT

 

is located on the rear of the Tactical Wedge.  Two types of TRI-TAC interfaces are 

used in the Tactical STEs.  The older models use a

 

Molex 43045-0400 connector while the newer models 

use four spring-loaded connector posts. 
If the Tactical STE uses a Molex 43045-0400 receptacle, two methods of connection are available: 
standard Molex connection or use of the Tactical Wedge Adapter Assembly. 

1.  The TRI-TAC line can be mated to a Molex 43025-0400 connector as stated in 

Table 2-21

 and 

then plugged into the STE’s Molex 43045-0400 receptacle.

2.  A Tactical Wedge Adapter Assembly (K10049770-501 or K10049770-502) can be affixed to the 

Tactical STE.  The adapter provides four spring-loaded posts to terminal the TRI-TAC line.  

Figure 2-53

 presents the –502 adapter, which is representative of both adapters.
