4-3.1 Install TPA Password
1. Insert the TPA Card into STE.
2. Access the Change TPA Password menu (
Figure 4-21 ) as follows: Press MENU , then press
SELECT , SCROLL and MODIFY .
If the TPA card has not been previously validated, the STE will validate the TPA Crypto Card for
approximately 30 seconds and then advance the display to the TERMINAL CONFIGURATION
CONTROL menu. Then press
SELECT and SCROLL to advance to the CHANGE TPA
PASSWORD menu.

SELECT Advances display to ENTER NEW TPA PASSWORD menu ( Figure 4-22 )
SCROLL Advances display to REMOTE CONTROL: menu (Paragraph 4-5.1.3 )
BACK Returns display to TERMINAL CONFIGURATION CONTROL menu (Paragraph 4-5.1 )
Press SELECT .
3. The ENTER NEW TPA PASSWORD menu ( Figure 4-22 ) is displayed. Use the DIAL PAD
KEYS to enter a password. The password field is limited to 10 characters (digits 0-9).

DONE Advances display to PASSWORD CHANGE SUCCESSFUL menu (no shown)
DELETE Available when first digit of the password is entered in line 2. Acts as a “backspace” by
deleting the last character entered.
ABORT Return display to CHANGE TPA PASSWORD menu ( Figure 4-21 )
When your password is entered, press DONE .
4. After the password is processed, the display will flash the PASSWORD CHANGE
SUCCESSFUL menu (not shown) until CONTINUE is pressed. The display is returned to the
TERMINAL CONFIGURATION CONTROL menu (Paragraph 4-5.1 ).
4-3.2 Transfer Privileges
To transfer the TPA privileges to another crypto card, a new card (fill or another User Card) must be
obtained, and inserted, that contains the proper algorithms and keys that the STE will use to validate that
the card is legitimate. Access the TRANSFER TPA PRIVILEGE menu as follows:
1. Press MENU , then SELECT , and SCROLL until the menu ( Figure 4-23 ) appears in the display.
