Problem Causes/check procedures Corrective measures
(1)
No primary paper feed. Check if the surfaces of the following pulleys
are dirty with paper powder:
forwarding pulley, paper feed pulley, separa-
tion pulley. Clean with isopropyl alcohol.
Check if the forwarding pulley, paper feed pul-
ley or separation pulley is deformed. Replace (see page 1-5-2).
Check that the separation pulley pressure
springs are properly fit. Move the separation pulley pressure springs
towards the inside.

Multiple sheets of paper
are fed at one time. Check if the separation pulley is deformed. Replace the separation pulley if it is worn
(see page 1-5-2).
Check if the paper is curled. Change the paper.
Check that the separation pulley pressure
springs are properly fit. Move the separation pulley pressure springs
towards the outside.

Paper jams. Check if the paper is excessively curled. Change the paper.
(4)
Abnormal noise is heard. Check if the pulleys and gears operate
smoothly. Grease the bushings and gears.
