3.2 Serial Masters with Multiple Ethernet Slaves 

The  serial  port  Masters  can  connect  to  more  than  one 

ethernetEthernet

  Slaves.  The  KGW3204  Modbus 

gateway supports Modbus TCP Slave with up to 16 simultaneous connections. The serial interface supports 

RS-232, RS422 and RS-485 through software settings.  

A. Transparent-B 

What  we  define  Transparent-B  as  the  process  from  Modbus  TCP  Slave  to  Modbus  RTU/ASCII  Master  in 

Transparent mode. In this mode, the 

ethernetEthernet

 port should be in Modbus TCP Master mode, and the 

serial port should be in Modbus RTU/ASCII Slave mode.

 

 

B. Agent-B 

What  we  define  Agent-B  as  the  process  from  Modbus  TCP  Slave  to  Modbus  RTU/ASCII  Master  in  Agent 

mode. In this mode, the 

ethernetEthernet

 ports should be in Modbus TCP Master mode, and the serial ports
