Instructions for use
-
Important:
Please read these instructions carefully before using the
equipment and keep them for later reference.
The
k
-Cross-Laser projects horizontal and vertical laser lines.
The automatic levelling feature makes for simple operation and ease of
use. The laser lines are automatically levelled. No complicated manual
adjustments are necessary. The levelling function is fully automatic within
an angle range of +/-5
°
. The cross laser projects continuous laser lines
on to floors, walls and ceilings.
Instructions of use
1. The
k
cross laser is equipped with a safety feature which locks
the laser unit when it is switched off and protects it from damage.
Slide the on/off switch (
a
) to the "ON" position to release the lock.
The cross laser is now ready for use.
2. The laser automatically levels itself within an angle range of +/-5
°
.
If the angle exceeds 5
°
, a continuous alarm will sound and the laser
line will deactivate. In this event, you must adjust the angle of the
base slightly.
3. By pressing the projection-mode key (
e
), you can switch on the
various line modes.
4. A laser cross will appear when the key (
e
) is pressed once.
5. A horizontal line will appear when the key (
e
) is pressed twice.
6. A vertical line will appear when the key (
e
) is pressed three times.
7. A laser cross will appear when the key (
e
) is pressed four times. The
laser cross is fixed in this mode. You will now be able to turn and tilt
the cross laser in all directions. The laser cross will still be projected
even if the 5
°
angle is exceeded.
8. A laser cross will appear when the key (
e
) is pressed five times (see
Point 4) etc.
9. Slide the on/off switch (
a
) to the "OFF" position to switch off the cross
laser. The laser unit is will now be locked again and protected from
damage.
Using a photo tripod
If necessary, the cross laser may be attached to a
commercially available photo tripod
(
k
-Art.: 0643-40).This is useful when severe
irregularities in the floor need to be balanced out.
Using the laser glasses
If the light conditions are unfavourable or if you can hardly see the laser
line, use the supplied laser glasses (
f
) to enhance the contrast.
Changing the batteries:
The batteries must
be changed when the laser beam starts to
fade. To change the batteries, open the
battery compartment (
c
) and change the
batteries. The batteries must be properly
disposed of.
Safety tips:
•
Never look directly into the laser beam.
For better
visibility of the laser beam please use the attached
glasses which improve the contrast.
The beam can
permanently damage your eyes.
Do not aim at
persons or reflecting surfaces with the laser beam.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly. Avoid any blows
or knocks to the unit.
• Never expose the cross laser to moisture or rain.
• Store the cross laser in a dry safe place.
• If the cross laser is not to be used for a prolonged
period of time, remove the batteries, in order to prevent
damage caused by leaking batteries.
• Check the cross laser and all components for damage
before use. Only use the unit if all parts are in good
condition.
• Repairs may only be performed by specialised
personnel.
• Only use the cross laser for the measuring tasks
indicated in these instructions.
•
Only use accessories which are specifically
recommended for the use of the cross laser
•
Any manipulation leading to an increased laser
performance is forbidden. We do not assume any
liability for damage incurred due to a non-compliance
with these notes on safety.
•
The laser pointer does not include any service parts.
For that reason, please do not open the housing as
otherwise we no longer assume any warranty for the
product.
•
Keep out of reach of children
• Principally, measurements taken with the cross
laser must be verified.
k
cannot assume
liability for measurement errors and
consequential damage resulting from the same.
