The cooking levels
Each cooking zone has its own control. Nine cooking levels are marked on
each cooking zone control. You can also select intermediate settings.

As far as possible, start cooking at the highest setting and continue at a
smaller setting.
The illuminated rings on the cooking zone controls are used as mode indica-
tors. If the cooking zone is switched on the illuminated ring of the attendant
knob is also illuminated.
Which are the best pots and pans?
You can save time and power by choosing the best pans.

Use pots and pans with flat, smooth bottoms.
■
Choose a pot or pan whose diameter fits the cooking zone.
Features of the glass ceramic hob
Frying or dual-circuit cooking zone
As a standard rule, the smaller cooking zone diameter is heated. The outer
cooking zone circuit can be switched on for frying pans and large saucepans.
Switching the dual-circuit zone on:
– Turn the control to the right as far as it will go.
– Then set it to the required cooking level.
Switching the dual-circuit zone off:
– Turn the control to “0” briefly.
– Then set it to the required cooking level.
Heat indicators (1)

Caution!
The indicator can fail (defective light bulb). You will now not be
warned when the cooking zones are hot. Have the light bulb replaced im-
mediately!
The indicators are on for as long as the cooking zones are still very hot and
even after they have been switched off.
Warming zone
Some glass ceramic hobs are provided with a zone for keeping food warm.
The warming zone is controlled via sensor buttons.
Switching on:
– First touch sensor button 2,
then 3.
The pilot light under the sensor
buttons comes on.
Switching off:
– Touch sensor button 4.
