Section 5: Maintenance & Lubrication
AP-SRT62, & AP-SRT76 Rotary Tillers 321-095MK
7/31/17
Long-Term Storage
Clean, inspect, service and make necessary repairs to
the Rotary Tiller when parking it for long periods and
when parking it at the end of a working season. This will
help ensure that the tiller is ready for field use the next
time you hook-up to it.
!
DANGER
To avoid serious injury or death:
Service underside of Rotary Tiller after it has been properly
attached to a skid steer, supported above ground with solid
supports underneath, and hydraulic flow set to off
.
Never work
under equipment supported by hydraulics. Hydraulics can
drop equipment instantly if controls are actuated or if
hydraulic lines burst even when hydraulics are shut off.
1.
Clean off any dirt and grease that may have
accumulated on the tiller and moving parts. Scrape
off compacted dirt from bottom of tiller and then wash
surface thoroughly with a garden hose.
2.
Check tines and tine bolts for wear. Replace if
necessary. Refer to
on
3.
Inspect tiller for loose, worn, or damaged parts and
adjust or replace as needed.
4.
Repaint parts where paint is worn or scratched to
prevent rust. Ask your Kubota dealer for touch-up
paint. Paint is available in aerosol can, quarts, and
gallon sizes. See chart below.
5.
A coating of oil may be applied to worn surfaces in
lieu of painting to minimize oxidation.
6.
Replace all damaged or missing decals.
7.
Lubricate as noted under
8.
Store tiller on a level surface in a clean, dry place.
Inside storage will reduce maintenance and make for
a longer tiller life.
9.
Follow all
instructions on
page 18 when unhooking the tiller from the skid steer.
