General mounting instructions for solid shaft encoders
• Check the shafts for offset
• Protect the tolerance-compensating element during mounting from excessive bending and from damage.
• Align the coupling on the shafts, and tighten without preload.
The connection between encoder and drive shaft should be configured in such a way that any breakage
of the connection can be excluded.
General mounting instructions for hollow shaft encoders
• Slide the encoder on the shaft
• Screw the stator coupling/torque stop onto the flange of the drive, without preload.
• Tighten the clamping ring to the recommended torque, without applying any preload to the stator
coupling/torque stop.
Notice:
the device can only be put into service if...
• the information on the nameplate of the device must correspond to the Ex application range of the site.
• the voltage supply network corresponds to the information on the nameplate of the device.
• the device shows no visible damages (transport, storage, assembly...).
• there is no explosive atmosphere during the assembly.
