Operation
While sitting on the motorcycle, bend over the handlebars, grasp the rim,
compress the fork, press the snap button

and slowly decompress the
fork until the snap button is fixed in the snap ring. Then release the snap
button. When the fork is compressed for the first time during a ride, the
snap button automatically disengages from the snap ring.
Prior to every use, check that the snap button can operate smoothly.
Danger of ice formation at temperatures below 0°C (32°F).

Final steps

Reinstall the front wheel (see the Owner’s Manual).

Loosen the snap ring again. The snap button on the fork protector must
be aligned with the snap area of the snap ring. Then tighten the snap
ring again with Loctite 243 and 1.2 Nm.

Drill 5 mm holes at the marks.

Countersink the 5 mm holes from the inside either manually using
a 10 mm drill bit or using a countersink to the point where the
heads of the M5x10 countersunk screws are roughly level with the
fork protector.

Position the snap button on the fork, secure the M5x5 countersunk
screws

with Loctite 243, and tighten them with 3.5 Nm from the
inside.

Mount the fork protector with the bushings and the M6x15 collar
screws

with a tightening torque of 10 Nm.

Reinstall the fork leg (see the Owner’s Manual).

Mounting the reinforcement plates

Position the two reinforcement plates on the outside of the fork
protector as shown and mark the drill holes with a marker.
