Checking the engine oil level
Info
The engine oil level must be checked at normal engine operating temperature.
–
Stand the motorcycle upright on a horizontal surface.
–
Remove the left side cover. ( p. 57)

Remove screw


Insert the provided oil dipstick

all the way - do not screw in.

After switching off the engine, wait one minute before checking the level.
Do not screw in the oil dipstick; only insert it to the stop.
The engine oil level must be within range

on the oil dipstick.
» If the engine oil level is not at the specified level:
–
Add engine oil. ( p. 90)

Mount screw


Warning
Danger of scalding Engine oil and gear oil get very hot when the motorcycle is ridden.

Wear appropriate protective clothing and safety gloves. In case of burns, rinse immediately with lukewarm water.

Environmental hazard Hazardous substances cause environmental damage.

Oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaners, brake fluid, etc., should be disposed of as stipulated in applicable regulations.

Drain the engine oil only when the engine is warm.
