Scope of supply
1x combination tool for chain
Chain wear is not always even, so you should repeat the
two measurements at different chain positions.
Preliminary work
- Raise the motorcycle on a lift stand.
The swingarm is completely relieved of weight.
Chain tension check
- Position combination tool
at the end of the chain sliding
piece.
NOTE
The tool must be aligned at right angles to the swingarm.
Lower chain section
is tensioned.
The upper chain section is directly against the tool.
Possibilities
If the upper chain section cannot be placed directly against
the tool, the chain tension may be too tight:
- Adjust the chain tension (see the Owner’s Manual).
If the upper chain section is lying against the tool, but the
lower chain section is not tensioned, the chain tension may
be too loose:
- Adjust the chain tension (see the Owner’s Manual).
Checking the chain links
- Position combination tool
on upper chain section

NOTE
Upper chain section
must be tensioned.
All the tool teeth are inserted into the chain links.
Possibilities
If not all tool teeth are inserted into the chain links:
- Replace the drivetrain kit (see repair manual).
Final steps
- Take the motorcycle off of the lift stand.
