DO
DO NOT
Before operating, make sure the function-setting switch is set at
the proper setting; “Welding” or ”Grinding”. The auto-darkening
welding helmet will not protect against severe impact hazards.
Place this helmet or the auto-darkening filter on a hot surface.
If this helmet does not darken upon striking arc, stop welding
immediately and contact your supervisor or K-T Industries.
Open or tamper with the auto-darkening filter.
Protect filter from liquid and dirt.
Make modifications to the filter or helmet, unless specified in this manual.
Clean filter surfaces regularly
Use replacement parts other than those specified in this manual.
Always keep sensors and solar cells clean, using a clean, lint-free
tissue or cloth.
Submerse the filter in water, use any solvents on filter screen or helmet
components, or use strong cleaning solutions.
DANGER Protect yourself and others. FUMES AND GASES can be hazardous to your health. Keep your head out of the fumes. Use enough ventilation, exhaust at the arc, or both, to keep fumes and gases from your breathing
zone and the general area. Use NIOSH approved or equivalent respirable fume respirator or air supplied respirators when welding in confined space. Special care should be taken when welding galvanized, plated, or painted
parts to avoid exposure to toxic fumes. ARC RAYS can injure eyes and burn skin. Wear helmet or face shield with filter lens. Provide protective screens and flash goggles if necessary, to shield others. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
Wear hand, head, and body protection which help to prevent injury from radiation, sparks, and electrical shock. See ANSIO Z49.1. At a minimum, this includes welder’s gloves and a protective face shield and may include arm
protectors, aprons, hats, shoulder protections, as well as substantial clothing. ELECTRIC SHOCK can KILL. Do not touch live electrical parts. BEFORE USE read and understand the manufacturer’s Instructions, Safety Data Sheets
(SDS’s), and your employer’s safety practices. FIRST AID: INHALATION OF FUMES: Remove to fresh air immediately or administer oxygen. Get medical attention immediately. ELECTRIC SHOCK: Disconnect and turn off the
power. Use a nonconductive material to pull victim away from contact with live parts or wires. Administer first aid and immediately contact a physician. IN CASE OF FIRE: Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical
or carbon dioxide. Welding arcs and sparks can ignite combustible and flammable materials. Use the extinguishing media recommended for the burning material and fire situation. WASTE DISPOSAL: Prevent waste from
contaminating surrounding environment. Discard any product, residue, disposable container or liner in an environmentally acceptable manner and in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. SEE American
National Standard Z49.1, “Safety in Welding and Cutting”, published by the American Welding Society, 550 NW LeJeune Road, Miami, FL, 33135 and OSHA Safety Health Standards, 29 CFR 1910. US Government Printing
Office, Washington, DC 20402 for more details.
! WARNING: READ & UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
Severe personal injury could occur if the user fails to follow the warnings listed in this manual, and/or fails to follow the operating instructions.
When grinding, the helmet shell cannot withstand welding spatter that is more than 43 grams and exceeds 120m/sec. The helmet meets standard DIN EN 175:1997 (B impact Level). For body
parts the helmet does not protect, wear other safety protection.
This Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet is designed to protect the eyes and face from sparks, spatter, and harmful radiation under normal welding conditions.
This Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet is not suitable for LASER WELDING or OXY-ACETYLENE WELDING.
! WARNING: This product may expose you to chemicals including cadmium, lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and reproductive harm. For information
