The user is responsible for periodically carrying out a functional test or, at the very least, a visual check.
A functional test can be performed on the measuring chain with the sensor either removed or in situ. If the
units are in situ, it must be possible to fill the system.
· Remove connecting cable.
· Connect ohmmeter to two wires.
· Move float manually or by filling the system from the min. to max. points.
The resistance reading displayed changes continuously as a function of the wire colours connected.
9.5 Functional inspection of the magnetic float level transmitter
• Do not operate magnetic float level transmitters near strong electromagnetic fields.
( Minimum distance 1 m )
• Only use in conjunction with a suitable measuring transducer.
• When used on safety barriers, the overall resistance of the reed measuring chain ( Ri ) must be between
1-100 kΩ.
• The magnetic float level transmitter may not be exposed to mechanical load, vibrations and impacts.
If these loads are present, damping elements must be used.
• The liquid must not have any mechanical impacts on the device.
• If there is a risk that the liquid could ignite or explode, then devices that conform to the
ATEX directive 2014/34/EU must be used.
• The environmental conditions must be such that all display instruments can be read without errors on-site,
and if possible, at a horizontal angle.
• The devices must be disposed of according to regional and national regulations and directives.
When the device is being disposed of, liquid residues may remain in it.
TRANSPORT REGULATIONS:
When packing for transport, be aware that the devices are measurement systems with electronic
components. The devices must be packed accordingly. The outer packing material such as wood, cardboard,
etc. must be marked with hazard warning signs.
