1. Connect the conductor strands of the three phases together and measure the
connection points of the winding against earth (1000 V DC).
7.3 Drainage/disposal

Insufficient preparation of work at the system

Properly shut down the system and secure it against inadvertent start-up.
▷
Close the shut-off elements in suction and discharge line.
▷
Close any auxiliary connections.
▷
Allow the system to cool down to ambient temperature.
WARNING
Pumped fluids posing a health hazard
Hazardous to persons and the environment!

Collect and properly dispose of flushing liquid and any liquid residues.
▷
Wear safety clothing and a protective mask, if required.
▷
Observe all legal regulations and internal safety information on the disposal of
liquids posing a health hazard.
If the fluids handled by the pumps leave residues which might lead to corrosion
when coming into contact with atmospheric humidity, or which might ignite when
coming into contact with oxygen, the pump set must be flushed through,
neutralised, and then for drying purposes anhydrous inert gas must be blown
through the pump.

Depending on the installation type, choose one of the following connections for
draining:

1. Open connection 6B.4 or connection 11E, depending on the type of installation.
2. Connect the flushing device (e.g. pipe union G 3/8 with nozzle).
3. Open connection 6B or the flushing valve in the suction line, depending on the
type of installation.
4. Flush the pump set towards the suction side.
