TTY/TDD TYPING ABBREVIATIONS
TTY/TDD users often abbreviate commonly used words or
expressions to save time. Here are some common abbreviations
used in TTY/TDD communication.
GA. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Go Ahead (your signal to being typing)
SK. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Stop Keying (sign off)
QQ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Question - takes the place of [?] key

To use those message: first, press and hold down CTRL key and
press the other key in combination then release both keys.

USING YOUR PV20JR WITH
WIRELESS PHONE
If you ordered your PV20JR with the wireless option, use the
supplied cable to connect your TDD direct to a TTY compatible
digital cell phone or a cordless phone with 2.5mm headset jack.
When purchasing a cell phone a service for your PV20JR, make
sure you get a TDD compatible cell phone or look for the TDD-cell
phone symbol:
MAKING A CELLULAR CALL WITH YOUR PV20JR
Always charge the TDD and your cell phone fully before use. Make
sure you get a strong signal from your provider and your TDD is
off. Set up your cell phone to work in TTY/TDD mode.

1: Connect the cable ends from the cell phone to your TDD.
2: Turn on your TDD
3: If your cell phone is not in TTY/TDD mode, select your cell
phone to work in TTY/TDD compatible mode.
4: Dial the number you are calling on the cell phone and press the
çsendé or çtalké button to initiate the call.
5: If the other partyês TDD picks up, the PV20JR will display text
and conversation has been started.
ANSWERING A CELLULAR CALL
Make sure to turn the ringer of your cell phone to vibrate mode.
If your battery does not support this mode, you may need to order
a vibrating battery from your cell phone provider.
