OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE:
Before using the tool, read the
instruction book carefully.
Installation and Adjustment
1. Adjusting the bit protrusion (See Fig. A)
To adjust the bit protrusion, loosen the locking lever
(14), and then move the depth adjustment cover (4) up
or down as desired. After this, tighten the locking lever
(14) firmly to secure the depth adjustment cover.
2. Starting & stopping (See Fig. B)
To start the tool, turn the On/off Switch Lever (1) to
“I”(ON); to stop it, turn the On/off Switch Lever (1) to
“O”(OFF).
WARNING:
Before plugging in the tool, make
sure the tool is switched off.
3. Installing or removing the trimmer bit (See
Fig. C, D)
WARNING: Make sure the plug is
removed before any work on the tool.
To install the trimmer bit, remove the Clamping Nut
(6) first. Insert the bit all the way into the collet and
tighten the Clamping Nut (6) securely with the two
spanners provided. To remove the trimmer bit, follow
the installation procedures in reverse order.
Operation
Put the base plate on the workpiece to be cut without
making any contact with the bit. Turn the tool on and
wait until the tool reaches its full speed. Move the tool
forward over the workpiece surface. And ensure the
base plate flushes and advances smoothly until the
cutting is finished.
For edge cutting, keep the workpiece on the left of the
bit in the feed direction. (See Fig. E)
NOTE:
Moving the tool forward too fast may cause
poor cutting quality, bit damage or motor damage.
While moving the tool forward too slowly may result in
bit damage because of heat. Before starting your cut
on actual workpiece, it is recommended to make a cut
trial on a piece of scrap lumber. This will show exactly
how the cut will look and what the dimension will be.
When using the parallel guide or roller guide, make
sure to keep it on the right side of the bit. This helps to
keep it flush with the workpiece surface. (See Fig. F)
Since excessive cutting may make overload the motor,
the cutting depth should not be more than 3mm. If you
want a depth over 3mm, make several passes with
progressively deeper bit settings.
Template Guide (See Fig. G, H, I)
Template guide is used to cut materials into the same
shape. (See Fig. H)
The template guide provides a sleeve that the bit can
pass through, allowing the use of the trimmer with
template patterns. To use it, loosen the screw on
the base plate and remove the base plate. Put the
template guide on the base plate. Fit the tool and
tighten it with screws.
Secure the base plate to the workpiece and move the
tool with the template guide sliding along the side of
the template. (See Fig. I)
NOTE:
The size of the workpiece that has cut will be
slightly different from the size of the template guide,
allowing for the distance (X) between the bit and
the outside edge of the template guide. This can be
calculated with the following equation:
Distance (X) = (Outside diameter of the template guide
– bit diameter)/2
Parallel guide (See Fig. J, K)
When bevel cutting or notching, parallel guide is
efficient for straight cut.
Assemble the parallel guide with the clamping bolt (11)
and wing nut (12). (See Fig. J) Install the parallel guide
on the tool with adjusting screw (A). Loosen the wing
nut (12), and then adjust the distance between the tool
bit and the parallel guide. Tighten the wing nut (12) at
desired distance.
When cutting, always ensure the parallel guide flushes
with the side of the workpiece. (See Fig. K)
If the distance between the side of the workpiece and
the cutting position is too wide for the parallel guide,
or if the side of the workpiece is not straight, firmly
clamp a parallel guide to the workpiece and use it as a
guide against the base plate.
Circular cut (See Fig. L, M)
Circular work can be accomplished if you assembled
the parallel guide as the figure shows.
See below for minimum and maximum radius of
circles to be cut (distance between the center of a
circle and the center of the bit):
Minimum radius: 61mm
Maximum radius: 214mm
The center hole 1 is used for cutting circles between
61 mm and 112mm in radius.
The center hole 2 is used for cutting circles between
112mm and 214mm in radius. (See Fig. L)
