Connecting an RS-232 port to a PC
You can connect a PC to the
VP-23RC
via an RS-232 port, as defined in Table 7:

To connect a PC using the Null-modem adapter provided with the machine
(recommended method):
Connect the RS-232 9-pin D-sub rear panel port

on the
VP-23RC
to the
Null-modem adapter

via a 9-wire flat cable and connect the Null-modem
adapter to the RS-232 9-pin D-sub port on your PC
To connect without using a Null-modem adapter:
Connect the RS-232 9-pin D-sub port on your PC to the RS-232 9-pin
D-sub rear panel port on the
VP-23RC
, as Figure 11 illustrates

If a Shielded cable is used, connect the shield to PIN 5
