Detaching the back cover
This section will illustrate how to detach the back cover from
the mini kaoss pad 2s so that you can replace the batteries
or access the memory card.
Detaching the cover
Press the lock button to release the back cover lock. Slide
the mini kaoss pad 2s toward yourself and separate it from
the cover.
Attaching the cover
Fit the tabs of the back cover into the upper part of the mini
kaoss pad 2s, and close the cover until you hear the lock
button click.
Replacing the batteries
The battery icon ( ) displays the remaining battery level.
When appears, the batteries are nearly depleted. Re-
place the batteries with new ones as soon as possible. Insert
two AA batteries, making sure that they are oriented in the
correct polarity.
Turn off the power before you replace the batteries.
The speaker volume will decrease according to the
remaining battery level. When the batteries run low, it will not
be possible to record to the memory card.
Unusable batteries should be removed immediately.
You should also remove the batteries if you do not expect to
be using the mini kaoss pad 2s for an extended period of
time.

Détacher le cache

Remplacer les piles

L’affichage de indique que les piles sont presque épui-
sées. Dans ce cas, remplacez sans tarder les piles par des
neuves. Insérez deux piles AA dans l’instrument, en veillant
à les orienter conformément aux indications de polarité.
Mettez l’instrument hors tension avant de changer les
piles.
Le volume du haut-parleur diminue en fonction de
l’usure des piles. Quand les piles s’épuisent, il n’est plus
possible d’enregistrer sur carte de mémoire.
Extrayez toujours immédiatement les piles usées.

Auswechseln der Batterien
Die Batterieanzeige ( ) informiert Sie über die Restlaufzeit der
Batterie Wenn angezeigt wird, sind die Batterien so gut wie
entladen. Ersetzen Sie schnellstmöglich die verbrauchten Batterien
mit neuen. Legen Sie zwei AA-Batterien ein und achten Sie dabei
auf die richtige Polarität.
Schalten Sie das Gerät vor Auswechseln der Batterien aus.
Die Lautstärke des Lautsprechers richtet sich nach der Bat-
teriespannung. Wenn die Batterien fast erschöpft sind, können Sie
nicht mehr auf die Speicherkarte aufnehmen.
Erschöpfte Batterien müssen so schnell wie möglich entfernt
werden. Entfernen Sie die Batterien außerdem, wenn Sie den mini
kaoss pad 2s längere Zeit nicht verwenden möchten.
Tipp
Die Laufzeit der Batterien kann mit der Energiesparfunktion
verlängert werden.

you change the battery setting in the utility menu to “NI-MH”.
Inserting or removing a memory card
You can use a memory card to record your performance. You can
also use the mini kaoss pad 2s to play back audio files (WAV for-
mat, mp3 format) that you’ve copied from a computer.
1. Make sure that the screen and all LEDs are unlit, and that the
power is off.
2. Insert the memory card into the slot until you hear it click into
place.
3. To remove the memory card, press it into the slot until you hear
it click, and then release your finger.
4. The memory card will pop out part-way, allowing you to pull it
out.
When inserting a memory card, make sure that it is oriented
correctly and that the correct side is facing upward, and then insert
it all the way into the slot, being careful not to use excessive force.
Do not insert or remove a memory card while the mini kaoss
pad 2s is powered-on. Doing so may damage the data in the mini
kaoss pad 2s or on the card, or it may render the memory card
unusable.
Formatting
A memory card that has been previously used by a computer, a
mobile phone, or a digital camera might not be immediately usable
by the mini kaoss pad 2s in that state. In order to use such a card,
it must first be formatted by the mini kaoss pad 2s.
Formatting will erase the entire contents of the memory card.
Never turn off the power or remove the memory card while
recording or formatting is taking place.
Memory cards that can be used
The mini kaoss pad 2s can use 512 MByte–2 GByte microSD
cards, and microSDHC cards up to 16 GBytes.
TIP
The mini kaoss pad 2s cannot use SDXC cards.

Memory card handling
Carefully read and observe the instructions that accompany your
memory card.

A memory card is not included. You will need to purchase one
separately.

Einlegen/Entnehmen einer Speicherkarte
Mit einer Speicherkarte können Sie Ihr Spiel aufnehmen. Außerdem
kann das mini kaoss pad 2s Audiodateien (WAV- und MP3-Format)
abspielen, die Sie mit Ihrem Computer kopiert haben.
1. Schauen Sie nach, ob alle Dioden erloschen sind. Das Gerät
muss ausgeschaltet sein.
2. Schieben Sie eine Speicherkarte so weit in den Schacht, bis sie
festklickt.
3. Um die Speicherkarte wieder zu entfernen, müssen Sie sie noch
etwas weiter in den Schacht schieben, bis sie leicht heraus-
springt.
4. Die Karte ragt halb aus dem Schacht und kann bequem entnom-
men werden.
Achten Sie beim Einlegen einer Speicherkarte darauf, dass
sie richtig herum und mit der richtigen Seite nach oben eingeführt
wird. Schieben Sie sie komplett, aber ohne Gewaltanwendung, in
den Schacht.
Beim Einlegen/Entnehmen der Karte darf der mini kaoss pad
2s nicht eingeschaltet sein. Sonst werden die Daten im mini kaoss
pad 2s oder auf der Karte nämlich beschädigt. Die Karte könnte
sogar unbrauchbar werden.
Formatieren
Eine Speicherkarte, die Sie zuvor mit einem Computer, Handy oder
einer Digital-Kamera verwendet haben, wird vom mini kaoss pad 2s
eventuell nicht ordnungsgemäß erkannt. Solch eine Karte muss
dann mit dem mini kaoss pad 2s formatiert werden.
Beim Formatieren werden alle Daten der Karten gelöscht.
Schalten Sie das Gerät niemals aus bzw. entfernen Sie die
Karte niemals, während sie formatiert wird bzw. bei laufender Auf-
nahme.
Karten, die verwendet werden können
Der mini kaoss pad 2s erlaubt die Verwendung von microSD-Karten
mit einer Kapazität von 512MB–2GB sowie von microSDHC-Karten
bis 16GB.
Tipp
Der mini kaoss pad 2s unterstützt keine SDXC-Karten.

3. Pour extraire la carte de mémoire, enfoncez-la dans la fente
jusqu’au déclic puis relâchez-la.
4. La carte est partiellement éjectée, ce qui vous permet de l’ex-
traire complètement.
Quand vous insérez une carte de mémoire, veillez à
l’orienter convenablement avec la bonne face vers le haut. Insérez-
la à fond dans la fente en évitant d’exercer une force excessive.
N’insérez et n’extrayez jamais de carte de mémoire tant que
le mini kaoss pad 2s est sous tension. Cela peut corrompre les
données du mini kaoss pad 2s ou de la carte, voire rendre cette
dernière inutilisable.
Formatage
Une carte de mémoire que vous avez utilisée avec un ordinateur,
un téléphone mobile ou un appareil photo numérique peut ne pas
être utilisable telle quelle par le mini kaoss pad 2s. Il faut au préa-
lable la formater avec le mini kaoss pad 2s.
Le formatage efface toutes les données de la carte de mé-
moire.
Ne coupez jamais l’alimentation et n’extrayez jamais la carte
durant son formatage ou en cours d’enregistrement.
Cartes de mémoire compatibles
Le mini kaoss pad 2s vous permet d’utiliser des cartes microSDHC
de 512Mo~2Go et des cartes microSDHC allant jusqu’à 16Go.

Connection settings
1. Press the fnc button to access the CONNECTION screen.
2. Use the VALUE slider to choose Direct or Send.
Normally you should choose “Direct” if the mini kaoss pad 2s is
connected to a musical instrument or CD player. The audio
input and the effect sound will be mixed together. Choose
“Send” if you’re using the mini kaoss pad 2s connected to the
effect send/return jacks of a mixer. The audio input will be omit-
ted, and only the effect sound will be sent to the output.
Input level
If the display indicates CLIP, the input level is too loud. Lower the
output volume of the connected device.
TIP
The output level of the mini kaoss pad 2s will be lower than the
input level. This is because the input section includes an attenuator
circuit designed for economical battery operation.

Réglages de connexion
1. Appuyez sur le bouton fnc pour afficher la page “CONNEC-

“Send”. En règle générale, sélectionnez “Direct” si le mini kaoss
pad 2s est branché à un instrument de musique ou à un lecteur
CD. Le signal d’entrée audio et le signal d’effet sont mixés.
Choisissez “Send” si le mini kaoss pad 2s est branché aux
prises d’envoi/de retour d’effet d’une console de mixage. Seul le
signal d’effet (et non le signal d’entrée) est transmis à la sortie.
Niveau d’entrée
Si l’écran affiche “CLIP”, le niveau d’entrée est trop élevé. Dimi-
nuez le volume sur l’appareil branché.
ASTUCE
Le niveau de sortie du mini kaoss pad 2s est plus bas que
le niveau d’entrée. C’est dû au fait que la section d’entrée est
pourvue d’un circuit d’atténuation conçu pour économiser les piles.
