Initial check items

• When a paper misfeed occurs, first make checks of the following initial check items.

Check item

Action

Does the media meet product specifications?

• Change media.

Is the media curled, wavy, or damp.

• Change media.
• Instruct user in correct media storage.

Is a foreign matter present along the media path, or is 
the media path deformed or worn?

• Clean or change the media path.

Are rolls/rollers dirty, deformed, or worn?

• Clean or change the defective roll/roller.

Are the edge guide and trailing edge stop at correct 
position to accommodate the media?

• Set as necessary.

Are actuators found operational as checked for correct 
operation? 

• Correct or change the defective actuator.
