VI. Specifying basic image controller
settings (IP address)
Specify the default settings for the image controller.
1. Remove the connectors of the cables from the
ports 1 and 2 of the image controller.
2. Turn on the image controller.
3. Turn on the copier.
Note:
When the system boots up for the first time,
English is selected as the Fiery’s default language.
After the completion of the installation, you can
select a language for the image controller from
WebTools. For the method of changing a lan-
guage, see “VIII. Changing a language for the
image controller with WebTools”.
Though Fiery language selection is changed,
there is no need to reinstall Fiery software.
4. Touch the Fiery icon (
).
5. When the password is entered, the Setup screen
appears. The default password is “Fiery.1”. (Be
sure to type in the password with the correct cap-
italization.)
6. Select “Server Setup” in the Controller Details
screen.
7. Without specifying any other settings, touch
[Exit]. When “Save Changes” appears, select
“Yes”, and then select “OK”.
8. In the same way, select “Network Setup”. After
selecting “Protocol Setup”, then “IPv4 Setup”,
select “Ethernet Setup”. Set “Enable Auto IP Con-
figuration” to “No”, and then select “OK”.
9. Specify settings for the following.
Note:
First check with your network administrator for the
settings that should be entered.
10. Select “OK”.
11. Touch “Exit IPV4 Setup”
→
“Exit Protocol Setup”
→
“Exit Network Setup”, select “Yes” when
“Save Changes” appears, and then select “OK”.
12. Touch “Printer Setup”.
13. Touch “Menu”, select “Yes” when “Save
Changes” appears, and then select “OK”.
14. When “Exit Setup” is selected, “Rebooting sys-
tem” appears and the image controller is
restarted.
15. Plug the connectors removed in step 1 into their
original ports. Turn off and on the image control-
ler again.
16. After the image controller is ready to be used,
turn the copier off, then on again.
VII. Checking the setup with a test print
After setting up the image controller, print the config-
uration sheet to check that the controller is operating
correctly.
<To print a test page>
1. Touch the Fiery icon (
).
2. Touch “Menu”.
3. Select “Print Pages”.
The names of the pages that can be printed are
displayed.
4. Select “Configuration”.
VIII. Changing a language for the image
controller with WebTools
Note:
Perform the procedure below as necessary.
1. Start WebTools.
2. Select the [Configure] tab.
3. Select [Launch Configure].
4. Type in the administrator password.
The default password is “Fiery.1”. (Be sure to
type in the password with the correct capitaliza-
tion.)
5. Select [Server]
→
[Regional Settings].
6. Select a language for [Server Languages:].
7. Select [Apply].
8. Select [Reboot] and reboot the image controller.
Note:
For the method of using WebTools, check the user
manual of the image controller.
