Composition/Operation

5.1.2

Document Separation Mechanism

• Double feeding of paper is prevented using coefficient of friction between the Take-up 

Roller and Separator Pad.

When one sheet of paper is 
taken up

The coefficient of friction on the front side of the sheet of paper taken up 
and fed through the space between the Take-up Roller and Separator 
Pad is same as that on the backside of the sheet of paper, allows the 
Take-up Roller to fed the paper.

When two or more sheets of 
paper are taken up

The coefficient of friction between the paper and Separator Pad is 
greater than that between the sheets of paper, which allows only the top 
sheet of paper to be fed by the Take-up Roller.
