6 - WORKING OPERATIONS
Wheel frame height
There are two available positions to mount the barrel of
the lift cylinders
(1)
.
• The mounting hole
(B)
is the factory setting and pre-
ferred location for the lift cylinders. This mounting hole
allows the header to float high enough to operate over
furrows, tracks, or other conditions that you may en-
counter in the field.
• The mounting hole
(A)
is an alternate mounting location
that allows you to lower the trail frame an additional
20 mm
(
0.8 in
). This position reduces ground pressure
during field operation, but can limit the upward flotation
of the header.
NOTE:
Use the mounting hole
(A)
when the field con-
ditions allow, such as when the ground is even without
deep tracks or furrows.

There is no change in lifting height, stubble height, or

system adjustment between the two lift cylinder
mounting positions. However, check for proper header
flotation if the mounting position changes.
NOTE:
The cylinders must have the same position at both
sides before you raise again the implement.
To change the lift cylinder mounting position, proceed
as follows:
1. Swing the tongue to the center position.
2. Lower the implement to the cutting position so the lift
cylinders are fully retracted.
3. Set the tractor parking brake, stop the engine, and
remove the key.
4. Lift the implement on each side at the base of the trail
frame
(3)
, or attach a lifting device to the trail frame
(2)
. Do not attempt to support the implement at any
other location.
5. Remove the upper pin. Align the cylinder barrel with
the new hole, and then install the pin to secure the
cylinder.
6. Adjust both lift cylinders to the same position.
