When showing the close hauled wind angle, the graphic on the
left of the display indicates the direction of the wind.
When sailing close hauled, the digits show the wind angle
measured from the bow of the boat (Fig 2.8) -
When running, the digits show the wind angle measured from
the stern, indicating how close the boat is to gybing (Fig 2.9) -

2.2.6 VMG (Velocity Made Good)
The VMG page is generated by the Mega itself. In order for
this information to be generated, Boat Speed, Apparent Wind
Angle and Apparent Wind Speed data are required.
The top line of the display will show “VMG” when close hauled
and flashes “-VMG-” when running downwind (Fig 2.10) -
