Installing Air Conditioner into Window
Follow the steps listed below to install the air conditioner into the window:
1. Using two (2) or more persons, safely lift the air conditioner into the windowsill:
•
Check that the bottom channel of the air conditioner cabinet is behind and against the
back side of your window sill.
•
The air conditioner should be placed with the rear of the unit tilted back about 1
⅛” to
1 ½” which will create a slight incline of ~3°.
•
Maintain a firm hold on the air conditioner and lower window sash to hold the cabinet in
place.
•
Measure the distance of the right side and left and adjust
the air conditioner’s placement
until it is centered in the window frame.
2. Attach the side curtains to the window frame:
•
Extend the side curtains on both sides of the air conditioner, making sure to keep them
vertical in relation to the window frame.
•
Using five (5) Type B screws, fix the side curtains and top channel to the window frame,
behind the upper window, and window sill.
NOTE: When choosing your window make sure the power supply cord is within 4 feet of a
grounded 3-prong outlet.
