Transformer not supplied with K-74-JA. Adjust all
dimensions and procedures accordingly.
1.
Prepare the framing for the transformer kit (minimum 6 x 8”
rough opening) in an accessible location such as a closet or a
service/access panel, within 12’ (3.7 meters) of shower tower
location. Allow for routing of lead wires from tower assembly.

FRAME CONSTRUCTION: See Fig. #3 . Use 2x4 nominal or
2x6 nominal lumber to construct support frame for mounting
box in accordance with roughing-in diagram. Size of rough
opening must be 45-11/16” (116cm) high. Provide a 6-1/8”
(15.6cm) width clearance for mounting box. Vertical framing is
not required for the mounting box.

Finished Wall
Mounting box must mount with back of mounting box flange
flush to outside surface of finished wall.
Do not mount the box until completion of finished wall.
Risk of incorrect fit requiring re-framing.
The top of the lower cross member must be 31-7/16” (79.9cm) from
floor. Risers must be 38-7/16” (97.6cm) from same floor
measurement [7” (17.8cm) above cross member]. See Fig. #4 .

3.
Include cross members to provide support for top and bottom
of mounting box. Orient bottom cross member with 4” nominal
or 6” nominal dimension vertical to allow hot and cold supplies
to pass behind cross member and into mounting box.
Centerline of risers must be 3-1/8” (7.9cm) back from
outside surface of finish wall. Verify compliance with this distance
before completing finished wall.
This product is designed to use 1/2” copper tubing at
2-1/4” (5.7cm) center-to-center for hot and cold supply. If
necessary, convert from pipe to copper tubing at floor level.
4.
See Fig. #4 . Using 1/2” copper tubing and thread adapters,
install risers at 2-1/4” (5.7cm) center-to-center to extend
38-7/16” (97.6cm) up from floor [risers must extend 7”
(17.8cm) into the mounting box after any trimming, if capped].
5.
Use one-hole electricians straps to secure risers to cross
member, as installation with 2-1/4” (5.7cm) centers will not
allow enough clearance for traditional two-hole plumbing
straps.
6.
Pressure test the water supply lines before completing
finished wall.
7.
Flush the water supply lines to remove debris.
