Customizing Your Printer

Adding a Hard Disk for Font Storage

The introduction to this guide lists the fonts that are provided with the
printer. If you would like additional fonts stored permanently on the
printer, you will need to add an external disk drive. Once you have
connected a formatted SCSI disk drive to the printer, you can use the
software utilities available for your system to download fonts and store
them on the disk.

Follow the steps below to attach a SCSI disk drive to the printer:

Installing the Hard Drive

Attaching the Cable

1. Turn the printer off.

2. Set the SCSI disk’s ID to “4”.

Refer to the SCSI disk drive manual for instructions.

3. Make sure that no other devices on the SCSI bus or chain use the

SCSI IDs “4”, “5”, or “6”.

4. Attach one end of the disk drive’s cable to one of the printer’s 

SCSI ports.
