Installing IMAGER Software Upgrades

You can install software on the IMAGER from your SERVICE COMPUTER with either:

•

HyperTerminal

-- if your COMPUTER has

Windows

95, follow procedure 2-9-1.

•

ProComm Plus

-- if your COMPUTER has

Windows

98, NT, 2000 or XP

follow procedure 2-9-2.

Before starting this procedure, connect a SERVICE COMPUTER to the SERIAL SERVICE PORT of the

IMAGER with either:

•

A straight-through CABLE (MPC) and a null MODEM ADAPTER or

•

An AFHU CABLE

Note

If an AFHU CABLE is used, the connector labeled AFHU is connected to the serial service port of

the IMAGER and the COVER INTERLOCK will be defeated automatically.

Note

If loading software from a DISKETTE or CD ROM, make a copy of the software to a directory on the

HARD DRIVE.

Installing Software Using

HyperTerminal

Use this procedure to install software updates on the IMAGER using Hyperterminal in

Windows

95/98.

1. From the SERVICE COMPUTER, select

Programs> Accessories> Hyperterminal.EXE

2. Select

File> New Connection

3. Enter a name for the connection.
4. Press [OK].
5. From the “Connect Using” field in the “Phone Number” window, select

Direct to Com 1

6. Click [OK].
7. In the “Com 1 Properties” window, set the Port Settings:

a. Bits per second:

38,400

b. Data bits:

c. Parity:

None

d. Stop bits:

e. Flow control:

Xon/Xoff

8. Set the Properties/Settings:

a. Click [Settings].
b. Set the termination emulation to

ANSI

c. Click [ASCII].
d. Set character and line delay to

e. Press [OK].

9. Energize the IMAGER and insert the film saver onto the Film Tray.
