Camera/computer communications
Problem
Cause
Solution
The computer
cannot
communicate
with the camera.
There is a problem with
the configuration of the
USB port on the computer.

Camera power is off.
Turn on the camera (

Batteries are exhausted or
are not charged.
Install new batteries (

charge rechargeable batteries.
Some Advanced Power
Management utilities on
laptops turn off ports to
save battery life.

feature.
USB cable is not securely
connected.
Connect cable to camera and
computer port (

Software is not installed.
Install the software (

).
Software is installed
incorrectly.
Disconnect the USB cable. Close all
open applications. Re-install the

Too many applications are
running on the computer.
Disconnect camera from the computer.
Close all software applications,
reconnect camera.
The Battery Monitor or
similar software runs
constantly.
Close that software before starting the
Kodak software.
Cannot transfer
