Power Panel
3.3.2.1 Input Power
The Sounder 1612 needs to be powered from a DC source. The input voltage range is 12-30 VDC (nominal
24VDC). The power consumption of the Sounder 1612 at startup is 40W with an average operating consumption of
20-25W.
3.3.2.2 CH1 / CH2 Transmit Output
The CH1 / CH2 Output connection transfers the high voltage transmit output signal to the transducer as well as the
return echo to the echosounder. CAUTION: Make sure that the Sounder 1612 is not transmitting while connecting or
disconnecting the transducer to any Tx Output connection.
3.3.2.3 USB Interface
The USB interface provides communication from the Sounder 1612 to the PC. It is a full speed 2.0 (12Mbps)
connection. The connection is a waterproof IP68 “B” type (shown without protective cap) but will mate with any
standard USB cable.
3.3.3
Power Switch
The Power Switch and Breaker are located inside the lid of the Sounder 1612 on the Cover Plate. When activated the
power switch will illuminate. This is also a sign of proper power being supplied to the unit.
