Sea Chest
Another permanent means of transducer installation in using a sea chest. The chest is located on the inside of the
hull and the transducer transmits and receives either through the hull itself or through an acoustic window. The sea
chest will need to be filled with water and may need a stand pipe to provide proper pressure to the transducer to
avoid cavitation. The following illustration is an example of a sea chest transducer installation.
