Wiring:
With the video source off and the TV off, gently connect your
HDMI source with the shortest possible (less than 10 meters or 30 feet)
HDMI wire to the Transmitter. Connect the Receiver to the TV, display
or monitor with a second shortest possible HDMI wire. One short HDMI
cable is included. Ensure the HDMI wires are top quality. If required,
connect the infrared emitter to the Transmitter and place the emitter
on the source component needing 38kHz infrared control.
Power Supply Connection:
After connecting the HDMI wires, insert
the 5 volt plug on each of the supplied power supplies to the
Transmitter and Receiver. Next plug the AC side of the power supplies
into wall outlets or, if possible, the switched outlet on the source
component. Use the WHD3 Transmitter and Receiver off switch when
not using the system for more than a week.
Positioning:
In almost every installation the Knoll WHD3 Transmitter
and Receiver functions best if they are positioned vertically. Swivel feet
are provided on both units for vertical installation. After initially
connecting and powering up, try rotating the Transmitter and Receiver
for the best no-wire signal. On screen there is a signal strength
indicator. The infrared receiver is on the side of the WHD3 Receiver and
infrared signals can only go from the Receiver to the Transmitter.

Troubleshooting:
If the WHD3 system does not appear to be
functioning, make certain the source and the destination devices
connected are functioning and turned on. Reconnect the devices using
maximum 3 meter (10 foot) long cables (in other words make sure the
problem is not long cables, in which case a HDMI balun may be
required). If the signal is present then make sure both the Transmitter
and Receiver are getting power. If it still does not work, carefully
inspect the cables and connectors for any damage. If the problem
persists the Transmitter and Receiver may be too far apart. Try moving
them closer together.
If the Receiver picks up interference it may result in a reduced quality
video or a buzzing sound. If this persists, try unplugging the Receiver
and plugging it back in to reset its interference protection.
This product can get very warm when operating. This is normal.
Non HDCP Compliant Devices:
If a destination device does not appear to work, make certain that the
device is HDCP compliant. A non-HDCP compliant device will not work
with a signal that has HDCP encoding present.
