2.4.4. Explosion Groups
Flammable gases and vapours are classified into explosion groups
(I, IIA, IIB and IIC) and temperature classes. Tab. 5 shows the
classifications of the most common flammable gases and vapours.

Tab. 5
The classification of gases and vapours into groups according to
explosion group and temperature class applies to both the medium
to be transferred and the environment of the pump.
The pumps must only be used to transfer gases and vapours that
are either not explosive or belong to explosion groups II A or II B
and temperature class T4 (or lower) (shaded area in Tab. 5).
The pumps must only be used in an environment containing an
atmosphere that is either not explosive or belongs to explosion
groups II A or II B and temperature class T4 (or lower) (shaded
area in Tab. 5).
