Fumes
CAUTION
Risk of infection due to viable tissue particles in laser fumes!
The fumes that are created in particular by vaporisation during the laser treatment can be
harmful to health.
You can use the fume suction system marVAC
©
by Gebrüder Martin for applications that
generate fumes.
The fume suction system marVAC
©
can be activated via the laser foot switch.

Using Laser Fibers
CAUTION
Danger of physical injury in case of failure to observe this document!
Observe the instructions for use that are supplied with the laser fibers. Failure to observe the
recommendations for the use of the laser fibers can lead to damage to the laser fibers and/or
injuries of the patient or user!
CAUTION
Dangerous laser radiation!
Dangerous laser radiation may escape when the laser fibers are strongly bent (beam exit on
the side, breaking of the fiber).
Be careful when using laser fibers that are inserted in the body!
Be careful in case of insufficiently fixed laser fibers, since due to their own tension they may
shift on the operation field, which can lead to uncontrollable laser light emission in undefined
directions.
NOTICE
Check laser light transmission system!
As the homing beam (pilot laser) takes the same path through the laser light transmission
system as the operation beam, it provides a good method to check the integrity of the
system.
If the homing spot at the distal end of the laser transmission system does not appear, has
low intensity or is diffuse, this may be a possible indication of a damaged or improperly
working laser light transmission system (see section 5.3 “Checking the Laser Fiber Using the
Pilot Laser”, page 38).
