• The exhaust duct should be as short and straight as possible.
• To avoid excessive noise or reduced extraction performance, the diameter of
the exhaust duct should not be smaller than 150 mm.
• Only use or shape arches with a large radius, small radii reduce the extraction
performance of the cooker hood.
• Only use smooth piping or flexible hoses made of non-combustible material
for the exhaust air line.
• If the exhaust air duct is laid horizontally, a minimum gradient of 1 cm per
metre or an angle of inclination of 2° must be maintained (Figure 3), otherwise
condensation can get into the extractor fan motor.
• If the exhaust air is directed into an exhaust air duct, the end of the
connection piece must be aligned in the direction of flow.
• If the extract air duct is routed through cool rooms, attics, etc., there may be
a large temperature gradient within the individual duct sections, resulting in
condensation or condensation water. Therefore, it is necessary to insulate
the exhaust air duct. In some cases, a condensation water barrier must be
installed in addition to adequate insulation.
