3.1 Before first use

Important
Only use salt specifically designed for use in dishwashers!
All other types of salt not specifically designed for use in a dish -
washer, especially table salt, will damage the water softener. In
case of damages caused by the use of unsuitable salt the manufac-
turer does not give any warranty nor is liable for any damages.
Only fill with salt just before starting one of the complete washing
programmes.
This will prevent any grains of salt or salty water, which may have been
split, remaining on the bottom of the machine for any period of time,
which may cause corrosion.
After the first wash cycle the control panel light expires.
Water softener
The hardness of the water varies from place to place. If hard water is
used in the dishwasher, deposits will form on the dishes and utensils.
The appliance is equipped with a special softener that uses salts speci -
fically designed to eliminate lime and minerals from the water.

• When installing the machine, follow the installation instructions in
this manual.
• Fill the water softener with 500 ml of water from the tap, then add 2 kg
of refined salt for the dishwasher. Now set up the water softener.
• Fill and adjust the rins aid dispenser.

Important
Make sure that the surfaces surrounding the appliance, e.g. the undersi-
de of the worktop, are sufficiently protected against moisture
to prevent possible damage (e.g. caused by escaping steam when ope-
ning the appliance door).
