Fault Possible cause Solution
The sharpener
does not turn on. The power plug is not properly
connected to an outlet. Properly connect
the sharpener to the
outlet.
The outlet is not functional. Insert the power plug
into another outlet.
The ON/OFF switch is set to ‘0’. Set the ON/OFF switch
to ‘I’.
An odor is pro-
duced during use. This is not unusual when using
the device for the first time. Make sure the
room is adequately
ventilated.
The item cannot be
sharpened. The wrong sharpening slot was
used to sharpen the item. Insert the item you
intend to sharpen in
the correct sharpen-
ing slot.
The item you intend to sharpen
was run through the sharpen-
ing slot in the wrong direction. Make sure you grind it
in the right direction.
The motor is run-
ning slowly or
irregularly. You are applying too much
pressure when pressing the
item into the sharpening slot. Adjust the pressure.
