OPERATION

Safe Operating Zone

Warning!

When operating this log splitter, it is highly important to make

sure you are standing in the safe operating zone when ever the ram is in

motion.

The safe operating zone is located next to the log splitter as shown in Fig.7.

Splitting logs guideline

Warning!

Never attempt to split a log which is longer than 21”. Refer to

Fig. 8 below for incorrect and correct method of placing a log on the bed of

the log splitter.

• Do not place your hands on the ends of the log when loading the log

splitter. This is very UNSAFE and could result in hand injury.

• Do not reach or step across the bed while the log splitter is running.

• Never attempt to split wood across the grain. This log splitter was not

designed for cross-grain splitting. Doing so could damage the log splitter

and may cause personal injury.

• Make sure both ends of the log you are splitting are cut as square as

possible. This will prevent the log from sliding out of position while under

pressure.

Once the log is correctly placed centered on the log splitter bed and up

against the splitting wedge as shown in Fig.8, follow these instructions to

split the log:

1) Turn motor on, by moving switch (A) Fig.9 forward as shown.

2) With one hand, grasp and push safety lever (A) Fig.10 towards the log

and hold it in this position. The log splitter will not split a log unless the

safety lever is engaged before using the engagement lever to split log.

3)  With  your  other  hand,  quickly  actuate  the  engagement  lever  (B)  fully

towards the log until it contacts, hold firmly until log is split. Immediately

after  the  log  is  split,  actuate  the  engagement  lever  back  in  the

auto-retract position to allow the ram to return to the starting point.

Note:

If  the  ram  stops  before  the  end  of  the  stroke  (tough  log),  quickly

actuate the engagement lever back to the auto-retract position. Let the ram

return and allow the flywheels to gain more momentum and try again.
