OPERATION & MAINTENANCE

USING ON/OFF SwITCh wITh REMOVAbLE SAFETY KEY

The On/Off switch (A) Fig.7 is used to turn the sander on and off. To turn the sander

“On”, move the switch towards the left (On position), to turn the sander “Off”, move

the switch towards the right (Off position). 

This switch comes with a removable safety key (B). When the safety key is removed

from the switch and placed in a safe location, unauthorized persons or children can’t

turn the switch to the On position. It is recommended to always remove the safety key

from the switch whenever the sander is not in use. To remove the safety switch, make

sure the switch is in the Off position and simply pull out the safety key.

USING ThE MANUAL bRAKE

wARNING!

Do not attempt to stop the sanding disc while the motor is running, only

use the brake to stop the disc after the sander has been turned off.

This sander comes with a manually operated brake (A) Fig.8. Once you have turned

off the sander, press down on the brake to slowly bring the disc to a stop.

DUST COLLECTION

wARNING!

It is only recommended to connect a shop vacuum to the 2” (2” O.D. / 1-

3/4” I.D.) dust chute (A) Fig.9 when sanding wood ONLY, never attach any hose to the

dust chute when sanding metals.

SANDING END SURFACES ON ThE SANDING DISC

Always move the workpiece across left side of center on the sanding disc face as

shown in Fig.10. 

Always position the workpiece to the left of center on sanding disc with disc rotating

counterclockwise. The table may be titled for beveled work. For perpendicular sanding,

it is recommended to use the miter gauge as a guide.

wARNING

: Applying  the  workpiece  to  the  right  side  of  the  disc  could  cause  the

workpiece to fly up (kickback), and result in an injury.

MAINTENANCE

wARNING

: For your own safely, turn switch "OFF" and remove plug from power source

outlet before adjusting or maintaining your disc sander.

wARNING

: To avoid electrocution or fire, any repair to electrical system should be

done by qualified service technicians. Unit must be reassembled exactly to factory

specifications.

LUbRICATION

The ball bearings in this machine are packed with grease at the factory. They require

no further lubrication. All other moving parts should be sprayed with a liquid lubricant

to ensure smooth operation.
