ADJUSTING SPEED SELECTOR DIAL

The jig saw speed can be adjusted between
500 and 3,000 strokes per minute by turning
the speed selector dial (A) Fig.5. The dial is
marked 1 (lowest speed) to 6 (full speed). In
general, higher speeds will allow you to cut
workpieces faster but the service life of the
blade will be reduced.

DUST CHUTE

The supplied dust chute (A) Fig.6 gets installed
to the back end of the jig saw body and a
vacuum can be adapted to the dust chute for
efficient dust collection. To install the dust
chute, align dust chute pins with slots in dust
chute opening, push dust chute in and turn it
clockwise to lock into place.

DUST BLOWER

This improve visibility during use, this jig saw
features a dust blower. It produces a stream of
air that keeps the dust away from the cut line.

This dust blower feature can be turned on or off
by turning the dust blower switch (A) Fig.7. To
turn the dust blower on, turn the switch to the
horizontal position (blower position) as shown
in Fig.7. To turn the dust blower off, turn the
switch to the vertical position (Off position).

LASER GUIDE/LED OPERATION

This jig saw features a laser guide and a LED
work light which can only be turned on one at a
time. Both can not be used simultaneously.

To use the laser guide system, position the
laser/LED switch (A) Fig.8 to the “Laser”
setting. To use the LED work light, position the
laser/LED switch (A) Fig.8 to the “LED” setting.
To turn either the laser guide or the LED off,
position the laser/LED switch to the “Off”
position.

REPLACING LASER GUIDE/LED BATTERIES

After extended use it will be neccessary to
replace the two AAA batteries located in the
laser/LED housing (B) Fig.8. If the batteries
need to be replaced, follow these instructions:

1) Remove the laser/LED housing (B) Fig.8 by

pushing upwards on the housing.

2) Remove used batteries (A) Fig.9 and

replace with new AAA batteries.

3) Reposition the laser/LED housing (B).

BEVEL CUTTING

With the base (A) Fig.10 tilted, you can make
bevel cuts at any angle between 0˚ and 45˚ (left
or right). Loosen the cap screw (B) on the
bottom of the jig saw using the supplied hex.
key. Move the base so that the cap screw is
positioned in the center of the base. Tilt the
base until the desired bevel angle is obtained.
Retighten the cap screw to secure the base.

CUTTING OPERATION

Rest the base flat on the workpiece and gently move the jig saw forward along the marked
cut line. When cutting curves, advance the jig saw very slowly.

METAL CUTTING

Always use a suitable coolant (cutting oil) when cutting metal. Failure to do so will cause
significant blade wear. The underside of the workpiece can be greased instead of using a
coolant.

CUTOUTS

Cutouts can be made with either methods

A

or

B

.

A)

Boring a starting hole: for internal cutouts without a lead-in cut from an edge, pre-drill a

starting hole more than 12mm in diameter. Insert the blade into this hole to start your cut.

B)

Plunge cutting: You do not need to bore a starting hole or make a lead-in cut if you

carefully do as follows: Tilt the machine up on the front edge of the base, with the blade
point positioned just above the workpiece surface. Apply pressure to the jig saw so that
the front edge of the base will not move when you turn the jig saw on and gently lower
the back end slowly. As the blade pierces the workpiece, slowly lower the base down
onto the workpiece surface. Complete the cut in the normal manner.
