Cal Kit Operational Check

Equipment Required
The Keysight U3047AM08 requires that the user be familiar with the equipment
listed.
Operational Check Procedure
The sequence of this procedure is very important and must be followed or the
performance accuracy and results may vary from the reference plots provided.
Ensure that the test set is not connected to the network analyzer if you are
performing an Operator’s Check. The network analyzer will indicate false
failures if the test set is connected.
Preparing the Analyzer
1.
Connect the test set to the 4-Port network analyzer using the interconnect
cables as shown in
2.
Turn on the test set.
3.
Select Response > Cal > Manage Cals > Cal Set. Delete or Rename any Cal
Sets titled “999.1” thru “999.12” (12-Port), although it is unlikely that you
will find Cal Sets with these names.
4.
Verify that the network analyzer is in Multiport mode. See the bottom of
the measurement window.

If only four S-Parameters are listed, select
Utility > System > Configure > Multiport Capability -OR-
(Instrument > Setup External Hardware > Multiport > Multiport
Configuration...)
. Select Restart as multiport PNA with this testset
and select U3047AM08 (12-Port) from the
drop-down menu > OK.
5.
Press
Preset
.
6.
Verify that the
[Start Frequency]
is set to
[10 MHz]
.
7.
Set the
[Stop Frequency]
is set to
[67 GHz]
, or
[50 GHz]
for the N5245A.
8.
Select
[Power] > Power Level and enter [−15 dBm]
.
9.
Select
Response > Avg > IF
Bandwidth > 100 Hz > OK
.
