Setting the
Individual
Test Port Paths with Address and Data
This section will provide details of the Interface Control Mode outlined in the previous
section,
Controlling the Test Set with N5242A/B
. The RF signal path configurations can be
set by using the preprogrammed Address and Data values of the U3022AM42.
Using the Test Set Address and Data values is only available while the system
is in Standalone Mode.
If using the SCPI command entry method using the PNA SCPI Command Processor (as
shown in the following examples), use the following syntax format:

A 20ms delay is required between address and data commands to allow for
switch settling. Failure to do so will cause measurement errors.
A manual entry method will be shown to make the Test Set RF path configurations
using the PNA Interface Control Panel, as shown in
ports 1, and 3-14, will require three Address and Data command lines for each port to
configure their RF switches, due to the External Noise Source feature in this test set
design. Ports 2, and 15-18, will only require one Address and Data line.
Syntax with the Control Panel entries is

The address is the first value in the test set I/O control or GPIB data command. The second
value controls the source and receiver paths of the ports. To select a test set port
configuration, the internal RF switches must be set to complete the source and receiver
paths. Table
on page 46 provides the address and data codes needed to arrange the RF
switch configurations.

When configuring ports using Address/Data commands, if they don't share the same
'Address' value you must have a separate command line for each, as seen in
. If the ports do share the same 'Address' value, you need to combine them
by adding the two 'Data' values to create a single command line for both ports, as
