Wiring Diagram
A typical wiring diagram for an internal current shunt measurement is shown below.
Internal Current Shunt Measurement Configuration
Connect to the channel's internal current shunt input, shown below.
Use the three-pin connector (shown on channel 2) for either the
internal 2-A (upper and middle pins) or 50-A (lower and middle pins)
current shunts. Never connect to them simultaneously.
Internal Current Shunt Input Protection
Internal current shunt measurement paths are not fused. The user must provide current
limit protection (fuse or breaker) and use appropriately sized wires. Currents exceeding
140% of the rated RMS currents may permanently damage the current measurement
shunts. The 2-A shunt has internal protection to avoid damage due to miswiring, but
the user should use the 50-A shunt when currents above 2 Arms are possible.
